In reality Joe we had known you only for a short time. It seems though that we had known you forever as we came to know you for your strength and resilience in the face of your illness and your recovery. Hearing of your passing has left us feeling sad and distraught at not being able to continue to be part of your life and develop our friendship as we had planned. We will remember you always with love and fondness.
Rip Joe you will be in our thoughts every day.

I was shocked and saddened to hear the news of Joe's passing and being the same age as he was has left me reflecting on life and memories, particularly the ones we shared, for while Joe has departed from this earth a little piece of him will live on in the hearts and minds of all those whose lives met with his.
Some people enter our lives and are swiftly gone; others stay longer and leave imprints on our hearts.
After over thirty years of friendship I have many fond imprints and memories which I will treasure the rest of my days.
I hope and pray you can do the same.

So sad to hear of Joe's passing. He was a lovely man and I have fond memories of working with him at York. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
